HAWK
This project is designed for a writer, who wanted a peaceful place to write in seclusion, with only the trees and birds to inspire them. The lot is heavily wooded and steeply sloped, and the desire was to disturb it as little as possible, so the bird-house like pavillion is held off the ground on wooden piers. The dimensions of the structure are intentionally sized so the whole assembly can be executed by hand, on site. This further reduces impact from trucks and large equipment. The space itself is open and unprogrammed, allowing the client to use it however they’d like.
